Servicing Impellers
Impellers are made from rubber and over time they dry out and fail. This process is accelerated if they run dry. Once they fail, the blades break off and become stuck in circulation and impede the normal flow of water or coolant. Replacing the impellers regularly, before they fail, is therefore imperative.
Replacing all impellers yearly prevents:
- Impeller failures leading to overheats
- Cracked heads and blown head gaskets – potentially 10’s of thousands of dollars of damage
- Needing to disassemble the entire cooling system to find the broken off blades
